Naso: si avverte l’alta gradazione, poi abbiamo delle belle note di frutta rossa (ciliegia, amarena), seguite dalla frutta secca (fichi, datteri) e da un po’ di cacao. Un equilibrio fra queste tre componenti abbastanza difficile da raggiungere ma ci siamo. Aceto balsamico, qualcosa di legnoso dopo un po’. Il cacao diventa zuccherato dopo qualche tempo, cioccolato al latte. Si addolcisce con il tempo nel bicchiere.
Gusto: la gradazione si fa sentire quasi da subito. Abbiamo delle belle spezie sulla punta della lingua, poi tanta frutta sotto spirito, ciliegie, amarene e fragole. I tannini del legno si avvertono, c’è anche del cacao amaro a completare il tutto. Caramello e vaniglia. Tabacco da pipa.
Finale: molto lungo ed intenso, abbiamo una certa rotondità del legno, spezie, cacao e frutta rossa.
Commento: un bel 1993 per festeggiare al meglio il Milano Whisky Festival dell’ormai lontano 2012. Buon single cask in linea con la fama di questa annata, come al solito, quando si tratta di single cask, lasciateli nel bicchiere per godere a lungo degli effluvi positivi e gradevoli…

Nose: you can hear the high-proof, then we have some good notes of red fruit (cherry, black cherry), followed by dried fruits (figs, dates) and a little cocoa. A balance between these three components quite difficult to achieve. Balsamic vinegar, something woody after a while ‘. The cocoa becomes sweetened after some time, milk chocolate. It mellows with time in the glass.
Mouth: you can feel almost immediately the high-proof. We have some nice spice on the tip of your tongue, then lots of fruits in alcohol, cherries, sour cherries and strawberries. The tannins of the wood you can feel, there is also the cocoa to top it all. Caramel and vanilla. Pipe tobacco.
Finish: Very long and intense, we have a certain roundness of wood, spices, cocoa and red fruit.
Overall: a beautiful 1993 to celebrate the best Milan Whisky Festival of 2012. Good single cask in line with the reputation of this year, as usual, when it comes to single cask, leave them in the glass to enjoy the long effects positive and pleasant…
