Naso: inizio maltoso, floreale e fruttato. Frutta gialla, quindi banana e limone non troppo aspro, quasi zuccherato. Fiori di campo, camomilla et similia. Una buona intensità per ora. La gradazione si avverte. Un che di caldo, di carne alla brace, quasi bacon. Con acqua è ancora più floreale e fruttato, emerge una nota scura di liquirizia.
Gusto: ripropone il naso oltre ad una vena speziata, soprattutto pepe nero e bianco. Abbiamo erbe di campo in quantità, foglie di thè. Ancora frutta gialla, questa volta che vira verso gli agrumi, arancia rossa e limone. Anche qui ottima intensità impreziosita dal cask strength. C’è anche un che di minerale, non mi spingerei a chiamarlo marittimo. Con acqua è più caldo, le spezie rimangono alte e si rinforza la frutta, questa volta pesche ed albicocche.
Finale: legno, foglie di thè, speziatura lieve. Rosmarino dopo un bel po’.
Commento: un single cask di sicuro effetto per una distilleria praticamente nuova (esce da poco il 18 anni). Tutte le caratteristiche di casa madre ci sono e sono evidenti. Un grande merito per il Whisky Club più apprezzato dal sottoscritto!

Nose: begins malty, floral and fruity. Yellow fruits, banana and lemon not too tart, almost sweety. Flowers, chamomile et similia. Good intensity. You can feel the alcohol. Something warm, grilled meat, almost bacon. With water is more floral and fruity, reveals a dark note of licorice.
Mouth: repeats the nose as well as a spicy note, especially black and white pepper. We have field herbs, tea leaves. Even yellow fruits, this time it turns into citruses, red orange and lemon. Here again good intensity enhanced by cask strength. There is also a mineral side, not maritime. With water is warmer, the spices remain as the fruit, peaches and apricots.
Finish: wood, tea leaves, mild spiciness. After a while rosemary.
Overall: a single cask highly effective for a new distillery (is out with the new 18 years old). You can feel al the features of Arran. A great credit to the Whisky Club more appreciated by me!
